Summer Cinema Hrid is a cinema with half a century’s long tradition, magnificently located by the sea. The cinema’s atmosphere takes us back to some old carefree times, and the ferry docking in the port of Vis only adds to the charm of evening screenings. Since way back in 1964, for 50 summers in a row, films were screened on a now retired 35 mm projector, which can still be toured with a guidance from the cinema’s kind employees. Switching to the film industry digital age gave the cinema a new digital projector and since 2014 it features the latest titles in original languages with Croatian subtitles, as well as dubbed animations for the youngest audience.
The cinema also includes a mini-bar with refreshing drinks.
These are just some of the reasons why the Vis summer cinema became a travel site in itself.
