The fifth Short Film Marathon is organised in four sections: Croatian Marathon 1 and 2, featuring the recent award-winning shorts, and Small Croatian Marathon and Small European Marathon feature animated titles suitable for the youngest audience. The first section includes 10 Croatian films of all genres: Gamer Girl by Irena Jukić Pranjić, They Just Come and Go by Boris Poljak, Into the Blue by Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović, Tanja by Jasna Nanut, Trip by Marko Meštrović, Safe Flight by Aldo Tardozzi, The Cleaning Lady by Matija Vukšić, Blink by Jakov Labrović, Nighthawk, and Manivald by Chintis Lundgren.

Besides, the European line-up will present animated films from The Netherlands, Slovenia, Italy, two films from France and one from Croatia, Portugal and Spain.

In addition to the cinemas, the Short Film Marathon is this year also happening on the website of the Croatian Audiovisual Centre. The online selection includes a cross-section of the successful short films from the four previous editions of the Marathon, and all the details will be made public on time.

The Shortest Day initiative was launched in 2012 by the French Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC), in association with the Short Film Agency, with the idea of a day-long promotion of a rich short film repertory across the country. Following a huge success in France, the initiative became international and now includes 14 European countries. The fifth Short Film Marathon is organised by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre in association with the Cinema Network and French Institute in Zagreb.
