Đakovo Cultural Centre is a cultural institution, established on 16 May 1994, by the Decision of the Đakovo City Council, following in the footsteps of the former A. Cesarec Public Open University. The Centre was registered at the Commercial Court of Osijek on 24 October 1994, and began its life as an independent cultural institution on 1 July 1995.
The Cultural Centre is in charge of film programmes, stage performances (drama, folklore and other) and art exhibitions. The Centre hall also hosts celebrations of important events and dates related to Đakovo, primary and secondary school plays, book presentations, lectures, discussions etc.
The Centre implements its programmes in association with the City Government, primary and secondary schools, other cultural institutions from the town and other parts of Croatia.
The Centre has 558 seats, 270 in the parterre and 288 in the balcony.
