Cinema Gorica

The cinema in Velika Gorica was active as an independent business by 1963, when it merged with the Juraj Kokot People’s University, today’s Public Open University Velika Gorica. Cinema-related activities were particularly developed in the 1960s and 1970s – in Velika Gorica screenings took place every day before a full auditorium, and in neighbouring villages (Buševec, Kuče, Lukavec, Pokupsko, Veleševeć) once a week. The last reconstruction and adaptation of the Public Open University building, including Gorica Cinema, was conducted in 2004, and in 2013 the cinema was installed with digital equipment.
